Carolina GROWN

DogPlanks is the story of our Dogwood tree in the front yard, which was one of the largest I've seen. The above picture was a "mistake" I made with our first digital camera, capturing our son peeking between the trunks to see what his big brother was up to.

As far as Dogwoods go, I love their spring flowers, it's so pretty to see a flash of color in the woods. Dogwoods got their name because they refuse to grow straight, like a dog's hind leg. Our tree had split into 3 parts, all about the same size. One spring, one section of the tree didn't make any flowers or leaves. The next year the same thing happened to the other 2 sections. Unfortunatley, the dead tree had to be  taken down. And that was the start of DogPlanks.
